學(xué)校歷史
弗吉尼亞聯(lián)邦大學(xué)的正式成立是在1968年，當(dāng)時(shí)的里士滿專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)院（Richmond Professional Institute, RPI）與弗吉尼亞醫(yī)學(xué)院（Medical College of Virginia, MCV）合并，正式組建了弗吉尼亞聯(lián)邦大學(xué)。但是弗吉尼亞醫(yī)學(xué)院的歷史卻可以追溯至1838年漢普登·悉尼學(xué)院在里士滿開(kāi)設(shè)的醫(yī)學(xué)系，1854年，該系獨(dú)立，成為弗吉尼亞醫(yī)學(xué)院。里士滿專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)院則系1917年成立，初名里士滿社會(huì)工作與公共衛(wèi)生學(xué)院（Richmond School of Social Work and Public Health），1925年成為威廉瑪麗學(xué)院的一個(gè)學(xué)部，1939年更名為里士滿專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)院，仍然隸屬威廉瑪麗學(xué)院，直至1962年正式獨(dú)立。1968年，弗吉尼亞州議會(huì)法批準(zhǔn)將弗吉尼亞醫(yī)學(xué)院和里士滿專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)院，組建弗吉尼亞聯(lián)邦大學(xué)。該校后來(lái)將1838年作為自己的立校的開(kāi)始。

6.When it's nice outside, Monroe Park fills with students who may be sketching pictures for art classes, playing Frisbee or soccer, or just laying out enjoying the day.
7.From government to Greek life, recreational to religious activity, and community service to student media, there is a student organization for every type of student at VCU. There is even a Pancake Club.
8.VCU offers several study abroad programs to countries such as China, England, Greece, Italy, Peru, and Spain.
9.Missed a great movie when it was in the theater? No worries-just check the schEDule at the Byrd Theater in Carytown. Popular movies are shown there before they hit DVD for 2$.
10.It's in the city of Richmond. VCU is diverse, and there are lots of things to explore when time needs to be filled.

3.Crossing major streets during the busy parts of the day can sometimes feel like you're in a game of Frogger.

5.Fast connections aren't always the case with the VCU Internet network.
6.Parking! It can be expensive to buy a permit each semester, and spots aren't guaranteed.
7.Slippery when wet! Rain and brick sidewalks don't mix.
8.Sometimes it can be a fight for students to get into the classes they want.
9.Thirsty? Drinks from vending machines on campus cost $1.25. It may not be faster, but it's definitely cheaper to get a drink from the cart vendor on the side of the road.
10.Want to live on campus after your freshman year? Cross your fingers! Students sign up for a lottery, and it's all luck after that.

弗吉尼亞聯(lián)邦大學(xué)各項(xiàng)目的招生均由研究生院（Graduate School）負(fù)責(zé)，規(guī)定的基本申請(qǐng)條件如下：

弗吉尼亞聯(lián)邦大學(xué)的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金主要由學(xué)生所申請(qǐng)的系所或項(xiàng)目提供，其形式以TA、RA為主。學(xué)生在申請(qǐng)時(shí)應(yīng)主動(dòng)與系里的導(dǎo)師或招生辦聯(lián)系，以期獲得由導(dǎo)師或系里提供的RA、TA獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。弗吉尼亞聯(lián)邦大學(xué)的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金形式以Merit-based為主，該獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金無(wú)需單獨(dú)申請(qǐng)，自動(dòng)隨Offer發(fā)放，其形式主要以TA和RA為主。一般而言，PhD學(xué)生的獲獎(jiǎng)幾率要遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)大于碩士學(xué)生獲得的幾率。
